Is it more beneficial to eat local and organic foods?Local produce and organic foods are the most environmentally-conscious option because it is healthier for both the soil and people. Some chemical or fertilizers at larger, less sustainable farms will pollute the local ecosystems. The produce also will be healthier and fresher for its consumers. Foods grown locally provide a more humane method of eating meat as several local farmers state that animals on small, local farms are more humane than the average beef you'd find at any grocery store. Local foods, especially when bought directly from a farmer, allow a customer to have a relationship with the farmer and an increased understanding of what they are eating. A community's morale and economy will be strengthened by buying from sources in the area. On the other hand, organic foods can run expensive and local foods are particularly vulnerable to the changing seasons and weather. What are your opinions on local foods?
Why do we need to eat sustainable?By consuming sustainable foods, people will help their own health and the environment in many ways. Growing crops and fresh herbs properly helps the soil. In today's world, industrialization has caused a variety of environmental issues, but agriculture is not entirely blameless. Many farms pollute the water and air with improper practices and copious use of harmful chemicals, harming the health of soil and marine ecosystems. However, smarter food production can help support local environments and actually benefit the air quality of an area. But to benefit the environment, people must learn to change first.
